Training Safety

Train hard, but train smart. Read this before your first session.

Not medical advice

RepBro provides general fitness and educational information only. It is not medical advice, and neither the app nor its AI coach is a substitute for a physician, physical therapist, or other qualified health professional. Consult your doctor before starting any exercise program — especially if you have a heart condition, high blood pressure, joint or back problems, a recent injury or surgery, or if you are pregnant.

Listen to your body

  • Stop immediately if you feel sharp pain, chest pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, or nausea — and seek medical attention if symptoms persist.
  • Muscle burn and next-day soreness are normal. Joint pain, sharp or shooting pain, and pain that changes how you move are not — don't train through them.
  • Prioritize sleep and rest days. Progress happens when you recover, not just when you lift.

Lift with good form first

  • Watch the form video before attempting an exercise you don't know, and start with a weight you can control for every rep.
  • Warm up before working sets — a few minutes of light cardio and warm-up sets at lighter weight.
  • Use a spotter or safety pins for heavy barbell pressing and squatting. Never test a max alone.
  • If your gym's equipment differs from the video, ask staff for a walkthrough — setup mistakes cause most machine injuries.

Injuries and limitations

RepBro lets you flag injuries and exercises to avoid, and will propose alternatives — but these adjustments are informational, not a rehabilitation program. If you are recovering from an injury, get clearance and exercise selection from a medical professional, then mirror it in the app.
